Friends of the Environment is growing and we are looking for new team members to help accomplish our mission of preserving Abaco's environment through education, conservation, and research facilitation.
We currently have one position available: Education Officer.

Education Officer
The Education Officer will primarily be responsible for implementing school-based environmental education programs and is expected to be a team player who will participate in other aspects of the organization. The Education Officer will work along with and report to FRIENDS’ Outreach Coordinator. The position is based in Marsh Harbour, Abaco.
Required qualifications
Bachelors degree in biology, ecology, environmental science, education or related fields with demonstrated experience in implementing education programs, drivers license, strong swimming skills, computer literacy (documents, spreadsheets, presentations, basic graphic design), comfort working with all age groups.
Preferred qualifications
Experience with outdoor education, first aid/wilderness first aid/lifeguard training, Mac iOS proficiency.​

Duties include, but not limited to:
Curriculum development, lesson delivery
Coordinating and leading field trips, presentations, and tours
Teaching after-school clubs and summer camps
Promotion and marketing
Participation in events and fundraisers
Organize and maintain lab/program equipment
Maintain program records (participants, expenditures, etc).
Occasional after-hours or weekend commitments
Program evaluation
